Mace Meadow Hole by Hole Description

Hole 1, 491 yards - This opening par 5 requires a 217 yard drive to carry over the creek, or you can lay up short. You need to place the second shot left of fairway center to avoid trees on the right. Your approach shot needs to avoid trees on the left and a bunker on the right. The green slopes from back to front.

Hole 2, 130 yards - This short par 3 has a lake in front of the green and OB on the left. The small green slopes from back to front. Club selection is crucial to avoid going long, which leaves an extremely difficult chip.

Hole 3, 330 yards - This par 4 plays slightly uphill to a two-tiered green. A shot of 200 yards leaves a short iron into the green.Tee shots should favorthe left side because the fairway slopes left to right. Club selection is critical on the second shot because of the two-tiered green, and it plays about a half club longer than expected.

Hole 4, 158 yards - This par 3 plays downhill to a small green with bunkers left and right of the green. The hole plays about a half club shorter because of the downhill.

Hole 5, 304 yards - This par 4 doglegs right and requires a tee shot of about 200 yards to be in the ideal spot. Your second shot plays a little downhill to a green that slopes from back to front. Avoid the bunker on the right of the green.

Hole 6, 471 yards - This par 5 is one of the best holes on the course. The tee shot needs to be up the right side because the fairway slopes right to left. Place the second shot just to the right of the oak tree at the 100 yard marker. Your approach shot needs to carry the lake in front of the green.

Hole 7, 327 yards - This par 4 doglegs left and requires a draw off the tee or a straight shot of 200 yards. The second shot plays uphill to a green that slopes from back to front and also to the right. Going long and left will leave you a difficult chip. Use a little extra club for the uphill second shot.

Hole 8, 367 yards - This straight away par 4 is tree-lined down both sides of the fairway. The second shot is to a very small green that has three separate tiers. Your second shot should avoid the greenside bunker on the left, but short of the green is OK.

Hole 9, 360 yards - This straight away par 4 has trees on the left and a creek running through the fairway, 270 yards off the tee. Your second shot needs to avoid the bunker on the right. Club selection is critical to this two-tiered green, which slopes to the middle of the green.

Hole 10, 336 yards - This straight away par 4 is the easiest hole on the course. Your tee shot needs to avoid a fairway bunker on the right and leaves a short second iron to a flat green. Birdie here is a good possibility.

Hole 11, 370 yards - This straight away par 4 has water down the left and right side of fairway. The fairway is one of the widest on the course. The second shot plays a little uphill to a big green, with a bunker on the left.

Hole 12, 165 yards - This par 3 requires an accurate tee shot because of the bunker on the left and tall tree protecting the right side of the green. Avoid the right side of the green if you can. The green slopes from back to front.

Hole 13, 350 yards - This par 4 plays downhill off the tee and then back uphill for the second shot. OB on the left. The second shot requires accuracy to get on the correct level of this two-tiered green. Similar to hole 9, the green slopes to the middle.

Hole 14, 473 yards - This par 5 is reachable for long hitters. Your tee shot must avoid a water hazard to the left and trees on the right. Play the second shot to around 100 yards from the green and avoid the right side. The approach shot plays uphill to a small green that slopes away from you. Watch out for the bunker to the right of green.

Hole 15, 382 yards - This par 4 is the hardest hole on the course. It is uphill all the way and requires an accurate tee shot to avoid the trees along both sides of the fairway. The second shot plays uphill to an elevated green with a bunker on the right.

Hole 16, 323 yards - This par 4 requires a tee shot 200 to 230 yards down the right side of the fairway to be short of the lake on the left. Big hitters can take a driver down the right side, but the fairway narrows considerably. The second shot is to one of the biggest greens on the course. This two-tiered green is guarded by water and a bunker on the left and two pines trees on the right. If you miss the second shot to the right, you will end up in what the locals call Bogey Flats.

Hole 17, 172 yards - This par 3 plays slightly uphill with OB on the left and two bunkers guarding the right. The green slopes from back to front. Avoid the left side off the tee or you will have an extremely difficult approach.

Hole 18, 501 yards - This finishing par 5 requires three good shots to hit the green. Your tee shot should favor the left side as fairway, which slopes to the right with OB on both the left and right. Your second shot should be played up the left side to avoid trees on the right and OB on the left. A bunker guards the left side of the green, which slopes from back to front.
